Gracie is the kind of shelter dog that reminds us why we got into fostering. When she arrived here from the shelter with her young puppy, she was afraid of a lot of things....sudden, loud sounds scared her, people moving too quickly made her nervous. Watching her quirky, adorable personality emerge has been such a wonderful thing to watch! She makes us laugh every day at the funny things she does! She is a wonderfully unique girl who has stolen the hearts of her foster family!
She plays and wrestles with her foster brothers and sisters, and thinks nothing of jumping in your lap for some cuddle time. She has come to enjoy a good belly rub! While she enjoys playing with the other dogs on her foster home, she is still working on her manners when meeting dogs outside of her 'pack'.
Being with a loving, consistent foster family has helped Gracie overcome her fear of trusting humans and has allowed her to let her guard down.
She LOVES to spend time outside and would be a perfect companion to someone who is a dedicated walker or runner. Because she loves to be outside, we are still working on Gracie trying to not run out of the house when a door is opened. She loves the open space! Riding in the car is one of her favorite things!
She is housebroken and is good with children. She sleeps with her 7 year old human foster brother every night. She walks well on a prong collar, but tends to pull without it. She does try and push the limits of the house rules, such as counter surfing, but is very smart and responds to correction very well. She knows how to sit and come when called. She is a quick learner and wants to do the right thing.
We are so proud of the progress Gracie has made. Now we need to find her the perfect family of her own. She is such a wonderful loving girl with so much to give. Please
come and meet her...her foster mommy loves to talk about how wonderful she is!
